Arsenal staged an impressive comeback to salvage a 2-2 draw against Premier League champions Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds had taken the lead through Cody Gakpo before Luis Diaz doubled their advantage moments later, and it wasn’t until the second half that the visitors pulled one back at Anfield courtesy of Gabriel Martinelli.
January signing Mikel Merino then drew the two sides level, before being sent off after receiving a second yellow card.
The result leaves Mikel Arteta’s side second in the Premier League table, although they are not yet guaranteed a place in next season’s Champions League.
Away from the action, it appears that Arsenal could be set to offer one of their squad players a new contract.
As per TBR Football, the North London side could offer defender Jakub Kiwior a new contract despite the player pushing for a move away.

Kiwior, 25, joined the Gunners from Italian side Spezia in January 2023 and has largely played a bit-part role for Arteta’s side since his arrival in England.
In total the Poland international has played 66 times for Arsenal, but he has enjoyed an extended run in the first team of late due to the absence of Gabriel.
The defender has started Arsenal’s last seven Premier League games, and it is claimed that the club have told his representatives that they therefore plan on offering him a new deal on improved terms.
While Kiwior had intended to depart The Emirates this summer, it appears that the Gunners will attempt to change his mind having rejected multiple offers for the versatile defender previously.
It has been claimed that the Polish defender is keen to return to Italy, where he has made 39 Serie A appearances.
