The Cincinnati Bengals and star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson have been locked into a contract situation throughout the course of the 2025 NFL offseason.
Due to that situation, there were a lot of trade rumors surrounding Hendrickson leading up to the draft. Even though the rumors were there, no move was made.
As things currently stand, the Bengals and Hendrickson are in a staring match. Neither side has budged and it doesn't sound like any progress has been made on a new deal.
On Monday, Hendrickson spoke out about the situation. He made a statement that was not good news for Cincinnati or a great look for the organization either.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter took to X to share Hendrickson's statement.
“No communication has taken place between my camp and the organization post draft. The offers prior to the draft did not reflect the vision we shared and were promised last offseason if I continued to play at a high level," Hendrickson said. "Coaches are aware of these past conversations. Rather than using collaboration to get us to a point to bring me home to the team, THEY are no longer communicating. I have been eagerly awaiting a resolution of this situation, but that’s hard to do when there is no discussion and an evident lack of interest in reaching mutual goals.”
With no resolution in sight, the trade rumors could begin picking up again surrounding Hendrickson.

Over the last two years, Hendrickson has posted back-to-back seasons of 17.5 sacks. He has become arguably the best pass rusher in the NFL.
After the Bengals locked up Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins earlier this offseason, the situation surrounding Hendrickson will be watched very closely heading towards training camp and the preseason.
