Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres could reportedly look at different options, including Manchester United, should Arsenal not formalise their interest in him soon.

Gyokeres is one of the top targets in the summer transfer window thanks to his sensational goalscoring form in Lisbon. He was signed by Ruben Amorim after impressing at Coventry City and has managed to bag a whopping 95 goals in 100 appearances for the club.

Now Amorim has left, it is widely expected that Gyokeres will follow suit at the end of the season. Arsenal have been heavily linked with the forward and there has even been reports that they have reached an 'agreement' on personal terms.

Adding a further update to Gyokeres' situation, journalist David Ornstein told NBC Sports: "Viktor Gyokeres remains in the mix for Arsenal. He is a player that Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta really likes.

"He is probably the best value for money option out there but the time is ticking and other interest is building. We know that Ruben Amorim at Manchester United likes him so let’s see if Arsenal move on that sooner, rather than later."

The suggestion from Ornstein is that United could swoop in if Arsenal's interest cools. However, with a price tag likely to be upwards of £60m, Ineos may need Amorim to deliver the Europa League to allow a move for the striker.

MEN Sport understands that the current plan is to target Ipswich Town's Liam Delap in the summer transfer window. Having performed well for the Tractor Boys despite their relegation from the Premier League, Delap is seen as a reasonable target to improve the club's strike force.

It is expected that Delap would be available for £30m thanks to a relegation clause in his contract. Wolverhampton Wanderers' utility man Matheus Cunha is also thought to be considered a top target by the United recruitment team.
