As if Los Angeles Rams fans weren't already disappointed at the fact that Cooper Kupp didn't finish his career with the team, the team has decided to add a bit more salt to the wound.
Back in March, the Rams opted to cut the former Super Bowl MVP after attempts to trade him earlier in the offseason were unsuccessful. While Kupp had been one of the league's best wide receivers, winning the triple crown in 2021 en route to the team's Super Bowl LVI win. However, following that season and the signing of a three-year contract extension worth $80.1 million, Kupp was plagued by injuries.
He ended up playing in just 33 games across three seasons. Although it seemed evident that his time was up with the Rams, many fans were stunned that the Rams gave away his No. 10 to recent signee and special-teams ace, Britain Covey.
"Nasty work," wrote one user.
"More disrespectful then Walker wearing 11 for Atlanta," pointed out another.
"Disrespectful that number should never be worn in LA again," expressed one user.
"Give it at least a year or two before moving on…still too fresh," suggested a fourth.
"letting this happen is crazy," pointed out another.

Aside from winning Super Bowl MVP and the triple crown in 2021, Kupp was named an All-Pro receiver. He had spent all eight of his NFL seasons with the Rams after they drafted him with the 69th pick in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
After his release, Kupp inked a deal with the NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks, where he will now be catching passes from Sam Darnold.
While he may not have had the resume to have his jersey retired by the team, considering that would put him with the likes of Marshall Faulk, Deacon Jones and Jackie Slater among others, the decision to give Covey his number is the final nail in the coffin of the Kupp era.
