Chiefs Send Message to Patrick Mahomes After Big Announcement

Patrick Mahomes is preparing for his ninth season in the NFL, having established himself as a star with the Kansas City Chiefs.

During his career with the Chiefs, Mahomes has led the organization to three Super Bowl titles.

In that span he has been honored as a two-time MVP, two-time All-Pro, six-time Pro Bowler and three-time Super Bowl MVP.

Mahomes, who is certainly playing his way into the GOAT (greatest of all time) conversation, was recently honored for his skill set in his home state of Texas.

The Chiefs quarterback was inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame.

Upon the release of the news, the Chiefs posted a photo of Mahomes holding up his high school uniform, sending a message to their prized star.

"Congratulations to @PatrickMahomes for being inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame over the weekend," posted the official social media account of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Mahomes played for Whitehouse High before committing to the Texas Tech Red Raiders as a three-star prospect. According to 247Sports, the Chiefs quarterback was ranked as the No. 22 pro-style quarterback and the No. 389 overall recruit in the country.

Upon being inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame, Mahomes spoke on the honor during the ceremony.

"There's so much to the community and there's so much to the friendships that you build with these guys," Mahomes said, per Harold R. Kuntz. "The guys that I played high school football with and grew up playing sports with are still my best friends today. ... I think just building that accountability and building those friendships and knowing that football is a tool for me to go out and showcase who I am but it's not who I am. That comes from high school football and building those friendships and showing how football can be a special place for a community."
