Rangers are reportedly pushing ahead with their backroom appointments as a decision has been made on their new manager.

Barry Ferguson will be leaving the Ibrox outfit at the end of the season as the San Francisco 49ers want a new permanent manager.

While the takeover has not been rubber-stamped yet, they appear to be calling the shots already, with Kevin Thelwell also taking charge.

Francesco Mauri set to join Gers along with Davide Ancelotti

It’s understood that Davide Ancelotti will begin his managerial career at Ibrox, after years of being the assistant to his dad Carlo.

According to AS, in the first two games of Carlo’s stint at Brazil, which are against Ecuador and Paraguay on 6 and 10 June, his son will be the assistant.

After that, he will move to Glasgow to become the number one at Rangers and kickstart the 49ers era.
