Trade Idea Sends Electric 1,500 Yard Wideout To The Broncos

The Denver Broncos made some offensive skill position upgrades during the 2025 NFL Draft to help fill-out the arsenal for second year quarterback, Bo Nix.

However, with WR1, Courtland Sutton's contract up at the end of the season, and with many of Denver's other burgeoning young receivers still not fully proven, there could be an interest within the Broncos organization to acquire more explosive pass-catching talent.

Although the team did add Illinois wideout, Pat Bryant, in the third round of last month's draft, he does not add a ton of speed to the room after running a 4.61 40-yard dash during February's combine.

As such, the team could look to add New Orleans Saints receiver, Rashid Shaheed, via trade. Bleacher Report's Matt Holder proposes Shaheed may be one of the wideouts who could see himself landing on the trade block in the near future.

With New Orleans perennially in cap hell and perhaps wanting to enter a rebuilding phase after the retirement of quarterback, Derek Carr, it checks out that Shaheed may not be in the franchise's long terms plans having just signed a one year extension this offseason.

And given Sean Payton's long-time connection with the Saints - even though he himself never coached Shaheed - it could certainly be a possibility.

On the way back from meniscus surgery, Shaheed's health could be the main sticking point in negotiations, but he is a legitimate vertical threat when healthy - creating a potential dynamic downfield duo with fellow speedster, Marvin Mims Jr.
