The first Denver Broncos game to be announced for 2025 will be a special one, featuring Saint Nick and the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Broncos will head down Interstate-70 to face their AFC West rivals, the Chiefs, on Christmas. The game will be played in the evening and will be broadcast by Amazon.
It’s Kansas City’s third-straight appearance on Christmas, as they make that a tradition, as the NFL has tried to add that as a primetime day to their slate. The reason they keep picking the Chiefs is that they’ve won the AFC West the last nine years and have made five of the last six Super Bowls.
But the AFC West may get stolen from them on Christmas this year. KC is the favorite once again, but the Broncos are +375 with the second-best odds to win the West.
So we’ll get Patrick Mahomes, Bo Nix, Andy Reid and Sean Payton — and maybe some snow on a Thursday that could shift the season.

Last year, the Broncos almost beat Kansas City on the road, but a last-second play went the way of the home team. Then Denver crushed KC in the final day of the season while they played mostly backups. It earned the Broncos their first playoff appearance since 2015, the last year the Chiefs didn’t win the AFC West.
The Thursday Night Football matchup will mark the fifth time the Broncos have played on Christmas Day, with all five games occurring on the road. Denver is 2-2 all-time in Christmas Day contests.
The Broncos’ full schedule comes out on Wednesday. Denver Sports will have more updates on the games as they get announced.
