Barcelona and Raphinha are reportedly “very close” to agreeing a new contract that will keep the Brazilian in Catalunya until 2029.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the two parties just have a few minor details to finalise before the extension is signed off and completed.
One of the issues still unresolved is the release clause, although “sources close to the player” insist there will be no problem with this.
Raphinha is set to be handed a pay rise - putting him among Barca’s highest earners - and will sign on until 2029,
The new contract is a reward for a simply stunning season from Raphinha who was tipped to leave last summer.
Instead the forward has gone on to play a key role in Barcelona’s excellent season, posting some quite remarkable stats.
Raphinha scored 13 goals and bagged 8 assists in 14 Champions League matches and has scored 18 times and contributed 9 assists in 33 La Liga appearances.
