Barcelona sporting director Deco has given a new interview where he’s shared his thoughts on the squad ahead of the summer transfer window.

Deco doesn’t think any players will want to leave right now but hinted that attacking reinforcements may be needed to relieve the burden on Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.

> “I don’t believe that this team, given its dynamism and joy, will have anyone wanting to leave. We’ve already renewed most of the players, now we need to take care of the ones that are still there,” he told ESPN.

>

> “Last year, I said that we couldn’t lose anyone. I think it’s the same now. If we can improve, that’s always possible, but the key is to leave what we’ve consolidated for the coming years.

>

> “Suddenly, we feel very dependent on Raphinha and Lamine. Maybe we need similar players, a solution for them. The squad is quite balanced, and we have a lot of good players in the youth team too.”

> “In football, you can’t hold on or not. A player has to be happy where he is. I can’t see a better place for him. The boy grew up here, he’s from here,” he added.

>

> “This generation has the chance to make history. Putting myself in his shoes, I’d like to be here, to be part of it. I don’t see any problem, especially because he has a contract. The club, within what it needs to create for him, will end up happening.”

Barca will look to Raphinha and Yamal for inspiration once again on Thursday when they return to action in the Catalan derby against Espanyol.
