A senior figure at Arsenal Football Club is set to join the board of Newbury Racecourse following the departure of non-executive director John Dodds.
Juliet Slot, chief commercial officer at Arsenal, will be appointed as a non-executive director following the listed company’s AGM on 10 June.
Her appointment comes as Dodds prepares to step down after 15 years on the board. Bryan Burrough will take on the role of senior independent director following Dodds’ departure.
Slot has held her position at the football club for more than three years and previously held similar commercial and sales positions at Ascot Racecourse and Fulham Football Club, as well as other high profile non-executive and advisory roles. She brings extensive commercial, racing and partnerships experience to the company's board.
Newbury Racecourse chairman Dominic Burke said: "John provided hugely valuable insight and service to Newbury Racecourse during the redevelopment program, so it is with great sadness that he will be stepping down at the next AGM. John has served as a director for 15 years so, on behalf of the board, I would like to thank him for his commitment to Newbury and wish him all the very best.
"We are delighted to announce the appointment of Juliet Slot, who brings both racecourse management and racing knowledge together with extensive commercial experience to the board, as we seek to expand further our commercial activities."
