Arsenal are prepared to accept offers for Gabriel Martinelli this summer as Mikel Arteta eyes an overhaul of his attacking options.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Saudi Pro League sides have been keeping an eye on the 23-year-old.
As a result, the Gunners’ recruitment team have already begun working to identify potential replacements and improvements on the Brazil international.
Brown told Football Insider last month that Arsenal are interested in signing Anthony Gordon from Newcastle should the Magpies be forced to sell.
A lack of depth in the wide left position means the Gunners are keen to strengthen this summer regardless of Martinelli’s future, but believe they can upgrade on him.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed that Arsenal planned to sign a “superstar” winger in January, but they were unable to get a deal over the line.

Arsenal to sell Gabriel Martinelli and sign top-class replacement
Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider in May that questions are being asked about Martinelli’s future at Arsenal.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that Arteta is willing to let the winger leave if they can find a top-class replacement.
“*Arsenal are prepared to let Martinelli go,*” he told Football Insider.
“His form has been very up and down, and they’re not 100 per cent satisfied with what he offers.
“Some Saudi clubs have been looking at him, and if they come in with a bid that Arsenal deem acceptable, I don’t think they’ll stand in his way.
“But it will come down to whether they can bring in a replacement for him.
“If they decide to let him leave, they’ll already be working on signing somebody else in his position.
“And that player, whoever it may be because I hear they’ve got a number of targets out wide, will have to be an improvement on Martinelli.
“That’s something Arsenal and their scouts have been working on for a while now.
“Especially given their lack of depth in that position which means they need at least one new signing.
“Arteta wants to improve his team and that’s a position he has identified to strengthen this summer.”

Martin Zubimendi deal agreed after Real Madrid twist
Arteta is planning for a busy summer at the Emirates, with a number of key positions highlighted, and they now appear to have agreed their first signing.
Football Insider revealed on 12 May that Arsenal have agreed to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad after triggering his release clause.
The Spain international has agreed terms over the deal, with his arrival arranged as the Gunners expect to lose Thomas Partey and Jorginho this summer.
This comes despite Brown warning Football Insider that Real Madrid’s interest in Zubimendi could make the deal difficult for Arsenal to complete.
