The journalist claims that “it’s all done” and will be sealed later this month once Flick puts the formal signature on the documents. Romano has noted that everything is already agreed when it comes to drafting the agreement papers, and that it will be official soon. The German coach’s current contract, which he penned upon joining Barcelona last year, was up until the summer of 2026, and the club is now ready to add one more year’s extension with this new deal.
All About Flick’s Inspired First Season at Barcelona
The German manager has been able to usher in a lot of success as Barcelona manager since he took over the club in the summer of 2024, following Xavi Hernandez’s departure. Flick has had an amazing record in El Clasico derbies against Real Madrid, with the Blaugrana winning all four derbies against Carlo Ancelotti’s side in the 2024/25 term across all competitions. This includes Barcelona defeating Real Madrid in both their La Liga meetings as well as in the Copa del Rey final and the Spanish Super Cup final, scoring 16 goals in the four games!

Flick has helped his side win the Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey titles in his first season in charge. He has also guided them to the UEFA Champions League semifinals, where they were eliminated by Inter Milan. However, the recent El Clasico win means that Barcelona will secure the 2024/25 La Liga title with a win over local rivals Espanyol in their next game. The managaer has been directly responsible for helping players like Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, and Robert Lewandowski find their best form, and that is why he’s being rightfully rewarded with a new contract.
