Belichick Scheduled For Interview With Friendly Face Strahan

University of North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick's oddball appearance on a national TV news program designed to help him sell a book is now getting a do-over.

Belichick is a New York Giants legend as the defensive coordinator and mentor to Lawrence Taylor, helping coach the club to two Super Bowls.

More recently, of course, he was the mastermind behind the New England Patriots dynasty.

But now?

Belichick’s post-Patriots career has been marred in controversy, in part due to his relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson. The two have a 48-year age gap, which is not necessarily anybody's business.

But has gained increasing control over Belichick as his de facto manager. ... and that has created a mess of his book tour, a mess with his family and scrutiny regarding her involvement in the UNC football program.

Much of this came to a head on an interview with CBS, meant to promote that new book. Belichick, mumbling answers while wearing an old torn sweatshirt, was asked - innocuously enough, for this interview was hardly a "gotcha'' setup - how he met Hudson.

Hudson snapped a "No!,'' saying that they wouldn’t be talking about that.

It was an uncomfortable look and feel, bringing out critics of Hudson that included even the legendary coach's daughter-in-law.

But now? A second try.

Belichick’s next interview will come on ABC and will be conducted by another New York icon, Michael Strahan.

Strahan now has a great deal of training as it relates to how to do this deal. Some in the media are insisting he "ask the tough questions.'' Our prediction is that he will do so, but that it will be pre-arranged with Belichick in a way that makes him look good and makes him look comfortable ...

And keeps his girlfriend from snapping.
