'Who cares?': Simon Jordan gives brutal answer when asked who will finish second in Premier…

**After Newcastle United beat Chelsea on Sunday, Arsenal could only manage a draw with Liverpool later that day, meaning the Magpies can steal second place from the Gunners with a win on Sunday.**

Arsenal and Newcastle face off for the fourth time this season at the Emirates on Sunday, with a win for either club assuring them a place in next season's Champions League.

It won't mathematically be done for Newcastle as Aston Villa could still finish on the same points, but Newcastle's vastly superior goal difference means it's very unlikely that Villa could surpass them if Newcastle hit 69 points.

But a win for Newcastle would mean that the Magpies leapfrog their opponents and will occupy second spot in the league going into the final game of the season.

Simon Jordan's view on who will finish second is an odd take

------------------------------------------------------------

Asked on TalkSPORT who he believes will ultimately finish as runner-up in the Premier League, Simon Jordan gave a fairly brutal, but very in-character response.

> “I think Arsenal will finish second.“I think Newcastle have had a great season and if they finish third that will still be a significant achievement. To get a League Cup, to get a Champions League berth would have been a major set of progresses for Newcastle and I think that’s good enough.“I mean, who cares? First loser, second loser, does it really make a lot of difference?”

We care, Simon!

It's a pretty short-sighted view from Jordan to be honest, given what finishing second or not will mean to both clubs.

For Arsenal, finishing third would be a devastating blow after being in the title race for so long and then missing out on a runners-up spot. Conversely, for Newcastle, we started to season so poorly that we weren't expecting anything good to come of this season.

Now, here we are with a trophy in the cabinet and the potential to finish runners-up and putting the boot in to one of our most collectively hated opposition managers.

We care, Simon. We care!
