As expected, FC Barcelona have officially announced that teenage talent Jofre Torrents has signed a new contract with the club.

The 18-year-old left-back’s previous deal stood to expire in the summer of 2026 and the Catalans have managed to extend it by two more years to keep him at the club until 2028.

“FC Barcelona and Jofre Torrents have reached an agreement to extend the full-back’s contract for three more seasons, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2028,” the club statement read.

“The signing ceremony was attended by Joan Soler, the director of Youth Football, and Jose Ramon Alexanco, the director of Youth Football.”

Torrents has been at Barcelona’s La Masia youth setup since 2017, having arrived from Reus Deportiu. The young left-back has enjoyed a rapid rise in prominence through the youth ranks at the club.

Despite battling some injuries, Torrents played a part in Barcelona Juvenil A’s treble triumph under Juliano Belletti this season and even made his debut for Barça Atletic.

Having been called up to first-team training by Hansi Flick on multiple occasions, it is expected that the young left-back will be a part of the pre-season tour in the summer.
