Chelsea will seek to restart talks with Victor Osimhen regarding a possible summer transfer. Meanwhile, it is understood that Galatasaray are keen to sign Jadon Sancho, who currently has an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge.
Osimhen, who is currently on loan at the Turkish club from Napoli, is expected to be sold this summer. The Blues are seen as strong contenders for his signature, but their approach for him is complicated, owing to his salary requirements. Osimhen is reportedly asking for close to €12 million annually.
The Blues are looking for ways to persuade a transfer falling within their own pay structure. However, Osimhen is not willing to reduce his salary requirements unless there are motives in the proposal.
Chelsea’s first bid to sign Osimhen was foiled because they could not meet his wage demands. Osimhen, who gets €10 million yearly at Napoli, found the Blues’ bid of €4 million base salary insulting. The Stamford Bridge hierarchy refused to break their new wage system, and last summer, they failed to get him.
How Sancho’s Case is Connected to Victor Osimhen
Currently, Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho is on Galatasaray’s radar. The winger has been disappointing this season with three goals and five assists in 30 Premier League games. Due to this, the Blues are not particularly interested in keeping him.
Chelsea have an option to buy the winger from Manchester United for £25 million under their agreement, but can send him back to Old Trafford at a cost of just £5 million. Galatasaray are looking into Sancho’s case and are willing to offer him an option to depart if Chelsea do not choose to make his switch permanent.
The Turkish club seem unlikely to sign Victor Osimhen on a permanent transfer this summer. His exit after his loan spell will open the door for another attacker, which could see Sancho get a permanent move.
