Viktor Gyokeres has dominated the front pages of Portuguese newspapers ahead of the summer transfer window. The 26-year-old striker has been linked with a move to the Premier League for a while now as he continues to impress for Sporting Clube de Portugal.
Gyokeres, who sees his contract at the José Alvalade Stadium expire in June 2028, has featured 32 times in the Portuguese top-flight this season, scoring 38 goals and providing six assists. Playing a key role in Rui Borges' side, he's helped the club climb to first place.
The Sweden international has the chance to win the title this weekend, with just three goals separating Sporting from Benfica – also on 79 points – in second. So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up what the Portuguese media have said about Gyokeres and his future.
Berta makes Gyokeres offer
According to the Portuguese newspaper A Bola, as quoted by Sport Witness, Arsenal have offered Gyokeres a salary of £7m-a-year after tax – which is about £130,000-a-week. The report claims that the proposal has been received as 'acceptable'.
It's said that once the Gunners have agreed personal terms with the Swede, they'll be ready to send Sporting an offer worth between €70m and €75m (£58.9m and £63m). A Bola adds that Gyokeres prioritises a move to the Premier League.

Arsenal scout Sporting trio
According to the Portuguese newspaper Record, as quoted by Sport Witness, Arsenal sent a scout to watch Sporting's clash against Benfica at the weekend. Francisco Trincão fired Gyokeres' side ahead inside the opening minutes before Kerem Aktürkoğlu equalised on the hour mark.
Then, in the dying embers of stoppage time at the Estádio da Luz, Sporting went down to 10 men when Ricardo Esgaio was shown a red card. Record claims that the Gunners were in attendance to watch Ousmane Diomande, Trincão and Gyokeres.

The report states that the scout was sent by Arsenal's head of recruitment, James Ellis, who sifts through potential targets before getting a final word from Arteta and Berta. The trio on the Gunners' radar have helped Sporting climb to the top of the Primeira Liga this term.
Chelsea make Arsenal sweat
According to Saturday’s edition of the Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã, as quoted by Sport Witness, Arsenal are worried that Chelsea could hijack a potential deal and pay over the odds for Gyokeres.
The report claims that the Gunners fear their London rivals could offer close to €100m (£84m) for the Swede. Correio da Manhã report that Arsenal have already submitted a €75m (£63m) bid, but the Sporting president, Frederico Varandas, believes he can get more for Gyokeres.
