Morgan Wallen Delivers Special Acoustic Duet of “Flower Shops” With Ernest at Free Nashville Show

Ever since finding himself in trouble with the law after tossing a chair from the rooftop of a bar, Morgan Wallen has done incredibly well staying out of trouble. But when it comes to controversy, the country star knows how to make headlines. Recently, his abrupt exit from Saturday Night Live caused some backlash. And that wasn’t all as he decided to skip the ACM Awards to spend time with NFL star Tom Brady. Following his own path in country music, Wallen recently shocked fans when he took the stage alongside ERNEST for a performance of “Flower Shops.”

Wanting to celebrate the launch of his new label, DeVille Records, ERNEST decided to throw a free concert for fans. Given the rising cost of tickets, fans jumped at the chance to see the singer for free. But they got one of the best bargains of 2025 when Wallen appeared. Having been friends for years, the two collaborated on songs like “Wasted On You” and “Somebody’s Problem.” But during the free concert, they covered the hit song “Flower Shops.”

ERNEST Reveals Odd Birthday Request From Morgan Wallen

Discussing how the song came about, ERNEST told the crowd, “Just about four years ago, Morgan came up here on this stage during a parking lot party and announced that we were gonna do this song as a duet before we told anybody we were gonna do this song as a duet. And I think we’ve payed it one or two other times here, but tonight’s special because like I said, I’m getting to launch my label, DeVille records, and I wanna thank you for coming tonight before your birthday…”

That’s right. Outside of hitting the links with Brady, Wallen turned 32 years old on May 13th. And according to ERNEST, he had an odd way of celebrating. “I’m in a group text, and he said, ‘Tomorrow we’re gonna run stairs for my birthday. Look how times have changed.’ I didn’t respond to that text. Here’s a song y’all might know.”

Besides serenading the fans who made it to the concert, Wallen received a special gift of his own when the crowd started to sing him “Happy Birthday.” Those same fans loved every second, adding their well wishes to the birthday boy in the comments.
