Chicago Bears fans have begun learning their 2025 NFL schedule with leaks. Already, they know the Green Bay Packers will visit Soldier Field five days before Christmas and the team will pay a visit to Philadelphia on Black Friday. There are theories that this layout means the team will get a rematch with the Washington Commanders on Christmas Day. Outside of that, not much is certain. What they do know is the Bears have one of the toughest schedules in the league once again, at least on paper.
That comes with playing against three of the league’s toughest divisions: the NFC North, AFC North, and NFC East. It is a monumental test for new head coach Ben Johnson and his staff. That said, the schedulemakers might throw the team at least one bone. Their opponent? A team that is looking more and more likely to employ an old nemesis that Chicago would love nothing better than to send into retirement with a loss.

It was 15 years ago when they faced an aging Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football. Not only did the Chicago Bears win 40-14 to claim the division title, but they also knocked Favre out of the game with an injury. He retired after the season ended. How fitting would it be if they could do something similar to Rodgers? No quarterback tortured Bears fans more in their team’s long history. He is 24-5 in his career against the Bears, and hadn’t lost a game to them between 2019 and 2022 before leaving for the New York Jets. This could be their last chance to poke one last hole in his legacy before he steps away. The fact it could happen at Soldier Field, where all the misery seems to flow from, would be fitting.
