Detroit Lions sign Flint native Malik Taylor to roster

FLINT - A Flint native will be playing closer to home.

The Detroit Lions announced Monday afternoon the organization has signed wide receiver Malik Taylor, a 2014 Montrose High School graduate.

Taylor went undrafted in 2019 and was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after tallying 121 receptions and 2,091 yards at Ferris State University.

He spent 2019-22 with the Green Bay Packers, where he caught his first-career touchdown from Aaron Rodgers against the Houston Texans in a 35-20 win on Oct. 25 of 2020. Taylor then spent the next three seasons with the New York Jets.

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound wide receiver has brought in nine receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown in his career.
