Cowboys Micah Joins $160 Million Star for Workout

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Micah Parsons has asserted himself into the conversation of being one of the best defensive players in the NFL. Since entering the league in 2021, he has racked up 52.5 sacks and 256 total tackles to go with his two All-Pro selections.

This success has earned Parsons the right to be offered what many expect to be the largest defensive contract in NFL history. The Cowboys have yet to officially ink Micah to an extension, but as he enters the final year of his rookie deal, he is as motivated as ever to stay present with the team leading up to his signing.

He was an early participant on the first day of voluntary workouts and has made a consummate effort to avoid a holdout. Micah wants to take a step in his leadership growth this season for a Dallas franchise going through a coaching change, and his cooperation throughout the negotiation process has been recognized – however inefficient the process may seem.

Outside of the Cowboys’ facilities, Parsons has gotten some extra work in with another star (and handsomely paid) defensive end, Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns.

The two were photographed and posted on Garrett’s Instagram Story with the caption, “good work @_micahparsons11”.

As they say, iron sharpens iron.

Not only is Micah aiming to continue his stellar career like the former first overall pick and Defensive Player of the Year Garrett has ... he’s looking to get paid like him too.

Earlier this offseason, Garrett and the Browns agreed to a historic contract that averages a salary of $40 million – completely redefining the market for defensive end value and setting the record for the highest-paid defensive contract in history.

However, in no way is this a competition. The two have strong mutual respect and have a friendly relationship outside of football as well.

Just like Garrett, Parsons will get his due. For Cowboys Nation, they hope Garrett’s defensive prowess can continue rubbing off on Parsons and lead to what could be Micah’s fifth consecutive year with double-digit sacks.
