Cleveland Browns inside linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is being placed on the physically unable to perform list, and will miss the entire 2025 season, the Browns announced. It is a tough blow for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ AFC North foe at linebacker.
Owusu-Koramoah went down with a neck injury in the team’s October 27 game against the Baltimore Ravens. He ducked to tackle a Ravens player and was carted off the field. Owusu-Koramoah missed the rest of the season.
Given how delicate neck injuries are, the Browns are caring for Owusu-Koramoah, who has an uncertain future in football. The Browns noted they would see how he progresses before deciding upon his long-term future.
“Jeremiah’s health is of the utmost importance to us and although he has made progress towards recovery, we’ve made the decision to place him on Reserve/PUP, which means he will not play football during the 2025 season,” Browns general manager Andrew Berry said. “Jeremiah has the full support of our team, and we expect him to continue to be a part of the organization even though he will not return to the field this year. We will not make any predictions on Jeremiah’s football future at this time, but we do note that he’s in good spirits and will continue to take the advice of the world-class medical experts who will continue to guide his progress and recovery.”
Owusu-Koramoah is a one-time Pro Bowler, having a standout 2023 season. He was named to the All-Rookie team after the 2021 season. Owusu-Koramoah is still just 25 years old, and one of the best young linebackers in football, but his future is now in jeopardy after the injury.
