Arsenal have received some promising news in their efforts to sign Sporting Lisbon goal machine Viktor Gyokeres, while Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has stepped in for his staff
Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting celebrates
With just two game weeks left in the Premier League season, attention has turned to the summer transfer window, where many clubs know they need to be busy.
Arsenal are chasing a striker after falling short in the title race for the third straight campaign. Mikel Arteta's side may have drawn at Anfield on the weekend, coming from 2-0 down, but they know they have been short of Liverpool in many aspects - not least goalscoring.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are preparing for the Europa League final against Tottenham on May 21 - a game which offers some sort of redemption for the winner in the form of a place in next season's Champions League.
Elsewhere there is more fallout from the scenes at the end of Nottingham Forest's 2-2 draw against Leicester, which could derail their bid for a place in Europe's top club competition in 2025/26. Here are the latest headlines from Mirror Football.

Arsenal get Gyokeres green light
Arsenal have been told they can sign Viktor Gyokeres if they fork out £60million this summer. Gyokeres is set to be the hottest property in the summer transfer window, having scored 95 goals in 100 games for Sporting Lisbon, but the Gunners are in pole position.
They have signed just one striker in seven years - Gabriel Jesus for £50m in 2022 - but are finally set to see the error of their ways. Arsenal are happy to pay the Swede £200,000-a-week and make him one of their top earners, getting in there before the likes of Manchester United.
Benjamin Sesko is a cheaper alternative, but Mirror Football understands that Arsenal’s new sporting director Andrea Berta rates Gyokeres highly and has strong links to get a deal done.
Amorim undercuts Ratcliffe
Ruben Amorim
Ruben Amorim has reached into his own pocket and bought Europa League final tickets for his staff after Sir Jim Ratcliffe refused to cough up. Ratcliffe told staff there would be no complimentary tickets for the biggest game of United’s season in Bilbao against Tottenham on Wednesday next week.
ESPN reports that the coaches, physios and support team were told that they would have to pay for their own tickets for family and friends because the club want to ensure that as many as possible of United’s allocation went to supporters. But Amorim decided to step in and undercut Ratcliffe’s directive, telling 30 of his staff that he would personally pay for their tickets.
Meanwhile, United have cancelled their end-of-season awards ceremony and dinner, with the side sitting 16th in the Premier League table.
Forest hit out over Nuno row
manager Nuno Espirito Santo (R) speaks with Nottingham Forest's Greek co-owner Evangelos Marinaki
Nottingham Forest and owner Evangelos Marinakis have released a statement to try and draw a line under the apparent row with manager Nuno Espirito Santo. Marinakis appeared to furiously confront Nuno on the pitch in the aftermath of Sunday's 2-2 draw with Leicester City.
"His reaction was one of deep care, responsibility, and emotional investment in one of our own. He didn't just see it as an isolated incident, but as something that reflected the values and unity of the entire team," the statement read.
It added: “The truth of the matter is there was no confrontation, with Nuno or with others, either on the pitch or inside the stadium", before hitting out at "baseless and ill-informed outrage for the purposes of personal social media traction".
