Arsenal blow as £90,000-a-week star is prepared to agree Man United move – Report

Cunha Wolves against Man Utd

Manchester United have long enjoyed a unique allure in world football—one that often transcends on-pitch performance.

While perhaps not on the level of Real Madrid or Barcelona, the Red Devils still manage to attract top talent, even when their results don’t reflect a club of such stature.

News –£30million player tipped to secure move to Manchester United

Currently, Ruben Amorim’s side are sitting 16th in the Premier League table and you would be forgiven for thinking, well, who will want to join them this summer?

The truth of the matter is that there are a number of players who would love to wear the Red jersey and play at Old Trafford. Does the club deserve it? – Maybe not!

One player who looks almost fixed to join Man Utd this summer, irrespective of what transpires in the Europa League final against Tottenham is Matheus Cunha.

The Brazilian has had a brilliant season at Wolves but his time at the Molineux seems to be coming to an end.

Man United to pip Arsenal to Cunha?

As per a report from Give Me Sport, Arsenal have been handed a blow in the race for Matheus Cunha as the talented playmaker looks set to join Man United.

The report mentions that the player desires to join the Red Devils, irrespective of which competitions they are in and is prioritizing a move to Manchester over other options.

Cunha is currently earning around £90,000-a-week (MEN) at Wolves and there is no doubt that he will get a wage bump when he moves to Man Utd. He is the perfect kind of profile to play as one of the two attacking midfielders in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system.

The ex-Atletico Madrid attacker has been prolific for Wolves across all competitions, scoring 17 goals and providing 6 assists in 34 games.

In a team like Man Utd with creators like Bruno Fernandes, Amad Diallo and Mason Mount, these numbers are bound to improve in upcoming seasons.

It is understandable that Arsenal want to sign Cunha as their striker woes, much like Man Utd, have been well documented. However, on paper, the Brazilian suits Amorim’s team more than he fits into Arteta’s and it will be a huge coup if the Red Devils manage to sign him.

In recent seasons, United’s transfer record has been underwhelming at best. Cunha may not fix everything overnight, but he could be the first piece in a puzzle that’s been missing coherence for far too long. If all goes to plan, fans may soon have reason to believe again.
