As per a report from Give Me Sport, Arsenal have been handed a blow in the race for Matheus Cunha as the talented playmaker looks set to join Man United.
The report mentions that the player desires to join the Red Devils, irrespective of which competitions they are in and is prioritizing a move to Manchester over other options.
Cunha is currently earning around £90,000-a-week (MEN) at Wolves and there is no doubt that he will get a wage bump when he moves to Man Utd. He is the perfect kind of profile to play as one of the two attacking midfielders in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system.
The ex-Atletico Madrid attacker has been prolific for Wolves across all competitions, scoring 17 goals and providing 6 assists in 34 games.
In a team like Man Utd with creators like Bruno Fernandes, Amad Diallo and Mason Mount, these numbers are bound to improve in upcoming seasons.
It is understandable that Arsenal want to sign Cunha as their striker woes, much like Man Utd, have been well documented. However, on paper, the Brazilian suits Amorim’s team more than he fits into Arteta’s and it will be a huge coup if the Red Devils manage to sign him.
