Jamie Carragher ‘fascinated’ after spotting Arsenal copying tactic Sean Dyche implemented at…

Everton may well have endured a turbulent season but they have now seen Arsenal copy one of their tactics.

David Moyes has been able to turn things around on Merseyside since he returned to the club back in January.

When the 62-year-old landed back at Goodison Park Everton were in a real mess with a serious fear of relegation.

The Friedkins pulled off a masterstroke in appointing Moyes after the American owners quickly realised a change was needed in the dugout.

Sean Dyche found himself unable to get the Toffees back on track towards the turn of the year with a desperate start to the season.

However, there is something from the former Everton manager’s game which Jamie Carragher has spotted Arsenal doing.

Jamie Carragher has spotted Arsenal using old Everton tactic

Dyche still finds himself out of management ahead of the summer where a number of Championship roles could become available.

Although his time at Goodison did not end on a positive note, the 53-year-old has been recognised for one of his tactics still on display at one of the top teams in the league.

Speaking on The Overlap, Carragher claimed Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya takes free kicks deep into his own half the same way Dyche had Jordan Pickford doing for the Blues.

“They’ve been on this journey [Arsenal]. And I’ve said they started at Pep Guardiola and they’re now at Jose Mourinho. I watched them against Paris Saint-Germain, they battered them for the first 20 minutes and they had 11 long throws,” said Carragher.

“I watched David Raya in games – even at Anfield – he takes free kicks in his own half the way Everton used to under Sean Dyche with Jordan Pickford. This is not a criticism, I’m fascinated by the style of Arsenal.”

Jake O’Brien has aimed a dig at Dyche following his departure with the defender not being handed many opportunities under the former manager.

However, it is interesting to see one of the best sides in the league from recent years is using something he implemented at Everton.

Sean Dyche could land Championship job this summer

Everton News understands there is an expectation Dyche could land a Championship job before the start of the season.

The sides who have been relegated from the Premier League are all set to be on the lookout for a new boss ahead of their drop to the second tier.

And Dyche is believed to be the frontrunner at Leicester City with Ruud van Nistelrooy’s future at the King Power Stadium looking bleak.

There may have to be some pride conceded by Dyche to take a step down, but his time at Everton may well suggest it is a fresh start that he could benefit from.
