Man Utd handed double injury concern ahead of Chelsea clash and Tottenham Europa League final

Manchester United defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro were absent from training at Carrington on Wednesday morning.

De Ligt was forced to leave the pitch during United's 4-3 loss to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium at the start of May due to a suspected knee injury. This was his first match since recovering from an ankle issue.

Ruben Amorim stated last week that De Ligt's injury was "not a big issue", but he was ruled out of the victory over Athletic Bilbao at Old Trafford and the 2-0 loss to West Ham United three days later.

Yoro had to be substituted in the second half of the West Ham defeat after sustaining an injury to his left foot. He was seen limping as he exited Old Trafford.

In his post-match press conference, Amorim said it was too early to provide an update on Yoro's condition. "We have to assess Leny in a better way tomorrow. He felt something, but it could be a small thing," he said, as per the Manchester Evening News.

United are set to face Tottenham in the Europa League final at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao a week today. Before the final, they will head to Chelsea for their penultimate Premier League match on Friday night, before shifting their attention to the Spurs clash.

Yoro has been performing exceptionally well in recent weeks, and his absence from the final would be a significant setback. His display against Athletic at Old Trafford last Thursday night was one of his finest in a United shirt since his transfer from Lille last summer.

In other news, Jonny Evans has returned to team training after a spell on the sidelines, with Toby Collyer also seen among the main group. However, Ayden Heaven is still missing from action, while Diogo Dalot was seen participating in an individual training session.
