Wolves move for ‘interesting’ Chelsea player not ruled out as ‘historic interest’ listed -…

Sources close to Molineux News believe that Wolves could be tempted to make a move for one Chelsea player in the summer transfer window.

Vitor Pereira is already thinking about the summer window, as the Wolves manager prepares for his first full season in charge at Molineux.

Already, Wolves have been linked with several targets to bolster the squad on the back of a campaign that started as a struggle before blossoming into an exciting project.

Pereira’s arrival transformed the mood in the Wolves squad, and now, the boss will be eager to build on the set-up he largely inherited from Gary O’Neil.

Wolves could make a move for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

O’Neil built a squad with incredible talent, which has been uttered throughout the season despite the Old Gold’s disastrous start.

Pereira has benefited from some of the talent harvested by the Englishman, and now, it’s thought that the Portuguese coach could revisit one of O’Neil’s former targets.

When speaking to Molineux News, TBR’s Graeme Bailey credited Wolves with having ‘historic interest’ in Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Wolves have been linked with Dewsbury-Hall, and when quizzed on the links, Bailey shared his belief that a move could ‘possibly’ transpire.

“He’s an interesting player. He’s one where Chelsea are sort of open to [leaving],” the transfer expert said.

“Wolves’ first-choice midfield isn’t an issue, but if a Tommy Doyle were to go, or a few of the other squad players, they will need numbers.”

Tommy Doyle is expected to leave Wolves in the summer, whether it be on loan or permanently, giving Pereira a void to fill in his squad, and Bailey believes Dewsbury-Hall ticks all the boxes.

“Dewsbury-Hall is a good Premier League performer, so again, it’s one I think there’s some historic interest there.

“Wolves will need to do stuff in that area, but not necessarily for the first team, so does he tick that box? Quite possibly.”

Dewsbury-Hall could help with Matheus Cunha’s exit

Having joined Chelsea for £30m from Leicester City only last summer, Dewsbury-Hall might already be regretting his decision.

The 26-year-old has acquired only two starts in the Premier League this term, playing just 254 minutes since matchday one.

A player of Dewsbury-Hall’s calibre deserves to be playing more regularly, which is an opportunity Wolves could hand the Englishman, particularly when looking at the anticipated changes set to impact Pereira’s squad.

Matheus Cunha looks set to join Manchester United, leaving a gap in the number ten spot to fill, something the Chelsea outsider is capable of doing.

Last season, Dewsbury-Hall racked up 26 goal contributions to fire Leicester to promotion from the Championship, showing the silky attacking side of his game.

Though the Foxes academy graduate is utilised more as a number eight, there are no restraints on where the Wolves target could play, giving Pereira an option to restore part of Cunha’s threat.

Whether Chelsea are willing to let the midfielder depart so prematurely remains to be seen, but Wolves could be one to watch regarding Dewsbury-Hall’s next steps.
