Chelsea are headed for a busy summer window. They are being linked with multiple big names across whole Europe. But, Real Madrid have now taken lead in the pursuit of their top target.
Chelsea are set to have yet another big summer window. They will be seen making new signings in all parts of the pitch. But, the Blues will have defensive signings as top priority. As of now, all Chalobah, Disasi, Veiga, Badiashile and Fofana are linked with exit.
The Blues are linked with multiple names in defender market. Their top priority list has two names – Marc Guehi and Dean Huijsen. Guehi has came through Chelsea’s academy and hence the Blues may have lead in the race. But, the situation is not same for Huijsen.
Real Madrid leading the race for Dean Huijsen
Real Madrid also hold strong interest in Huijsen. They are having a tough season right now. One of the main reasons behind that is their defence. A lot of injuries and under-performing stars have suggested that they will go in strongly this summer for centre-back signing.
According to The Telegraph, Madrid are leading the race for Huijsen. They have offered the Spaniard more salary than Chelsea. Incoming boss Xabi Alonso wants Huijsen in his system as he likes to play with 3-4-3 formation. But, the reports state that Chelsea are unwilling to give up without strong fight.

Huijsen will have a big say in deciding his future. As of now, he may lean towards Madrid not only due to high wages, but also due to the fact that he plays for Spain on international level. He can be signed by triggering his £50 million release clause.
Earlier, Huijsen said that his idol growing up was Sergio Ramos. Hence, he will be tempted to follow the footsteps of Ramos by joining Real Madrid. This makes the position of Los Blancos even more strong in the pursuit.
