The Buffalo Bills are a tight-knit group and have been since Sean McDermott was hired as head coach back in 2017.
A big part of their success to this point, though, has been the development of MVP quarterback Josh Allen. The Wyoming product's growth from being a raw prospect to one of the best signal-callers of the game has been quite the turnaround.
It has helped Buffalo go from a scrappy underdog to one of the most dominant teams in the league for the last five years.
Allen has been beloved by teammates and fans ever since he arrived in Western New York. Probably the most special of relationships for him has been with Pro Bowl left tackle Dion Dawkins.
The outspoken tackle from McDermott's first draft class in 2017 has always been defensive of Buffalo's quarterback. So much so that a post from January of him getting Allen's face as a tattoo is making the rounds again on social media.
Dawkins has always had Allen's back - even when the quarterback has struggled through playoff losses that may not entirely be his own fault.
That doesn't matter to NFL analysts, though. They see Allen's struggles in beating Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs and wonder if he'll be destined to be a perennial loser moving forward.
Eventually, though, the hope is that the Bills will finally get over the hump in the conference. And when that day comes, Allen and Dawkins will be celebrated as even bigger heroes than they already are.
