Packers’ 2025 NFL schedule trickles out

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The NFL is scheduled to officially release the schedule for the upcoming football season at 7 p.m. Central Wednesday, but information is already trickling out and we’re updating this report throughout the day to give you the latest information.

A new rumor Wednesday morning is that the Packers will open the season at home against longtime NFC North rival Detroit Lions.

That’s according to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, citing sources. He says the game will be on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 3:25 p.m.

It’s the first season opener at Lambeau Field for head coach Matt LaFleur. The last home opener in Week 1 was in 2018, the year before LaFleur took over.

The NFL confirmed two dates earlier this week. On Tuesday, the league confirmed the Packers will host the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football on Nov. 10.

The primetime game will air on WBAY-TV.

On Monday, the NFL announced a doubleheader in Week 16, on Saturday, Dec. 20, with the Packers in Chicago for the later afternoon game.

The game will air on Fox.

Green Bay fans hoping to head to the Emerald Isles for a game next season will be disappointed.

NFL Insider Tom Pelissero reported the Minnesota Vikings are playing the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin on Sept. 28.
