Philadelphia Eagles Front Office MVP Speaks Out On Major Award

There is no general manager in the NFL today that quite matches up to Philadelphia Eagles top executive Howie Roseman.

Brought into the role in 2010, Roseman has seen the Eagles go from cursed ... to mediocre losers ... to one of the best teams in the league in his 15 years on the job. He has built rosters that have won two Super Bowls, been to three, and won multiple division titles.

Now, Roseman is getting his due from the city itself.

Roseman was named Philadelphia's MVP - getting the “Most Valuable Philadelphian” award for his contributions to the city this week. As part of his speech, Roseman made it clear how special the city has been to him and his family.

“I would describe it (in the way) Sinatra sang, ‘New York, New York’: You can make it there, you can make it anywhere,” Roseman said. “I’m proud to think that in the sports world, that’s Philly. If you can make it here and have success here, you have an opportunity to go anywhere and have success, because it’s never going to get more demanding — in a positive way — than it is here.”

There are only eight general managers in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Tex Schramm, Al Davis, Bill Polian, Ron Wolf, Bobby Beathard, Gil Brandt, and George Young are all part of the distinguished list.

It seems that with Roseman's resume, he is well on his way to being the ninth moving forward. Especially if the Eagles keep winning Super Bowls.
