Arsenal have long been linked with Nico Williams. The Athletic Club winger was heavily tracked last summer after helping Spain win EURO 2024, but no move ever came to fruition.
The 22-year-old, who mainly operates on the left but can play on the right, is contracted to the La Liga side until 2027 and could be available if a club meets his £48.5million release clause. football.london understands Arsenal are interested in bringing a wide forward to the club this summer, as well as a back-up goalkeeper, defender, central midfielder and striker.
Williams could well be that man, with the winger contributing 11 goals and seven assists in 44 appearances this season. The Gunners may look elsewhere, however, and one Premier League star could be a decent alternative.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has impressed at Nottingham Forest this season and has played a vital role for Nuno Espirito Santo's side. Forest are currently seventh in the Premier League and have a real chance of qualifying for next season's Champions League.
The 24-year-old, who joined Nottingham Forest from Chelsea in 2023 after a loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen the campaign before, has scored five goals and assisted three more in 34 appearances this season. He is currently out injured but could possibly make a return before the end of the campaign.
According to Sky Sports' Dharmesh Sheth, Manchester United are one of the clubs keeping tabs on the winger's situation. Hudson-Odoi's current contract is due to expire next summer and talks over a new deal are yet to make any progress.
It was previously said that Roma and Napoli are among the clubs abroad interested in signing the England international, although the winger remains focussed on the remainder of the season and will assess his option in the summer.
While Arsenal are yet to formalise any interest, it's possible the Gunners look at Hudson-Odoi as an option. Already proven in the Premier League, the winger would also likely be available for a reasonable fee given he will have just one year remaining on his deal come the summer. According to Transfermarkt, the former Chelsea man is valued at £20million.
Aged 24, Hudson-Odoi still has time to develop and would offer additional quality to the Gunners' left hand side. It remains to be seen if a move does come to fruition, but it's certainly a deal Andrea Berta and Mikel Arteta may consider.
