The NFL didn’t think Saquon Barkley’s return to Met Life Stadium last season was worthy of being a prime time event.
So instead of playing on Thursday night or Sunday night or Monday night, the Eagles went to the Meadowlands for a 1 p.m. game in Week 7 and a national television audience missed out on all the great theater involved with Barkley playing for the first time against his former team.
After watching an angry mob of Giants fans burn his Giants’ No. 26 jersey as Barkley rode in on the Eagles’ team bus, the superstar running back scorched his former team by rushing for 176 on just 17 carries before sitting out the fourth quarter of his team’s 28-3 rout.
The league has decided that Barkley’s second trip to Met Life Stadium will stand alone as a Thursday night game in Week 7. The date will be Oct. 9 with a start time of 8:15 p.m. on Prime Video.
The Eagles now know the dates and times of six of their 17 games after their Week 2 matchup at Kansas City was leaked earlier Wednesday. The full schedule is set to be revealed Wednesday night at 8 p.m. on the NFL Network.
Here’s the list of the Eagles’ games we know so far:
