Arsenal are preparing to open new contract talks with William Saliba in an effort to fend off interest from Real Madrid, who have made the defender their top target this summer.
Saliba’s current deal runs until 2027, but with two years left, Arsenal are eager to secure his long-term future.

The 24-year-old is happy at the club and remains central to Mikel Arteta’s plans.
Madrid’s interest has been longstanding, especially as Saliba is seen as one of Europe’s best young defenders and is already among Arsenal’s highest earners on £190,000 a week.
