The Giants’ 2025 schedule is out, per NorthJersey.com. Can general manager Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll win enough games to save their jobs?
Let’s bring you our game-by-game predictions.
Here goes:
Week 1: at Commanders
Slater: The Giants open up with a loss to the Commanders, as Jayden Daniels keeps showing Brian Daboll what he’s missing out on.
Commanders 28, Giants 17 (0-1)
Novozinsky: Yep. Daniels will continue to prove why Tommy DeVito’s Cinderella run was foolish. Unless Jaxson Dart turns into a star, it will go down as one of the darkest eras in Giants franchise history.
Commanders 30, Giants 13 (0-1)
Week 2: at Cowboys
Slater: The Giants clearly are the NFC East’s worst team, and that’ll be evident yet again in Dallas.
Cowboys 28, Giants 13 (0-2)
Novozinsky: It’s a showdown between two Penn State edge rushers in Abdul Carter and Micah Parsons. Can Daboll’s offensive line contain No. 11? They’ll need to if they want a chance in this one.
Cowboys 17, Giants 10 (0-2)
Week 3, Sunday night: vs. Chiefs
Slater: If the Giants somehow beat Patrick Mahomes and Co. — who went 40-11 the past three seasons while reaching three straight Super Bowls — it would be a minor miracle. Not happening.
Chiefs 56, Giants 7 (0-3)
Novozinsky: The Giants may have a revamped secondary, but Mahomes is still going to torch them. This won’t even be close.
Chiefs 35, Giants 7 (0-3)
Week 4: vs. Chargers
Slater: The Giants hiring Schoen as their general manager in 2022 reportedly cost them a chance to land Jim Harbaugh. They wound up with Daboll instead. And he obviously isn’t as good of a head coach as Harbaugh.
Chargers 27, Giants 17 (0-4)
Novozinsky: A winless start is John Mara‘s worst nightmare. Will fans start flying taunting plane banners again?
Chargers 21, Giants 17 (0-4)
Week 5: at Saints
Slater: New Orleans’ quarterback situation bears watching, since Derek Carr retired, due to a serious shoulder injury. Which will mean the Giants facing rookie Tyler Shough, Jake Haener or Spencer Rattler. This would be a pathetic loss for Daboll and Co.
Giants 27, Saints 14 (1-4)
Novozinsky: The Giants finally get a win. They had better. The QB-desperate Saints are going to be terrible this year.
Giants 21, Saints 3 (1-4)
Week 6, Thursday night: vs. Eagles
Slater:Saquon Barkley embarrassed the Giants last year, in his return to MetLife Stadium. Bet on it happening again, as Schoen continues to look like a fool for letting Barkley leave.
Eagles 42, Giants 13 (1-5)
Novozinsky: Back to the loss column for Big Blue. Easy win for the defending champs. The Giants are clearly trying to build a similar team to them, but have a long way to go.
Eagles 28, Giants 3 (1-5)
Week 7: at Broncos
Slater: Schoen passed during last year’s draft on Bo Nix, who immediately thrived in Denver. Oops.
Broncos 38, Giants 28 (1-6)
Novozinsky: Just a brutal start for the Giants here. You have to wonder how patient Mara is willing to be during this stinker.
Broncos 24, Giants 21 (1-6)
Week 8: at Eagles
Slater: Barkley will relish his chance to run all over the Giants during his first matchup with them in Philadelphia, since he was held out of last year’s meeting there, in order to rest for the playoffs.
Eagles 38, Giants 6 (1-7)
Novozinsky: Hey, at least they kept it closer this time, right? I’m still giving the edge to the team with Barkley. How many yards will he put up with Schoen in his building?
Eagles 28, Giants 17 (1-7)
Week 9: vs. 49ers
Slater: Kyle Shanahan’s team is coming off a lost season, at 6-11. But the 49ers are still more talented than the Giants — and having a better coaching staff.
49ers 21, Giants 20 (1-8)
Novozinsky: The 49ers will be plenty motivated after a down year. The ice cold Giants will not be.
49ers 28, Giants 21 (1-8)
Week 10: at Bears
Slater: This is a winnable road game for the Giants, facing a team that went 5-12 last year. How will Caleb Williams fare against the Giants’ formidable defensive front? Perhaps not very well.
Giants 21, Bears 14 (2-8)
Novozinsky: The Williams-Ben Johnson duo will prove to be a perfect marriage. The Bears are building a force around their young QB. They’ll beat the Giants by two scores.
Bears 28, Giants 14 (1-9)
Week 11: vs. Packers
Slater: Green Bay’s offense finished last season fifth in yards and eighth in points. Even though the Giants’ defense should be their strength, Jordan Love and Co. will prove to be too much.
Packers 30, Giants 21 (2-9)
Novozinsky: The Giants lose double digit games before they snag their third win. Another lost season under this regime. They’ll put up a fight against Green Bay, but it won’t be enough.
Packers 28, Giants 24 (1-10)
Week 12: at Lions
Slater: The Giants will be massive underdogs in this game — and the Lions probably will cover the point spread.
Lions 52, Giants 10 (2-10)
Novozinsky: The Giants will show glimpses this year, but their schedule is just too daunting. They play yet another juggernaut here and lose yet again.
Lions 38, Giants 10 (1-11)
Week 13, Monday Night: at Patriots
Slater: Daboll badly wanted Drake Maye (and Daniels) in last year’s draft. But Maye wound up in New England, which is still very much rebuilding (even though Maye looks like a promising starter).
Giants 17, Patriots 14 (3-10)
Novozinsky: This ain’t last year’s Patriots. Maye and Co. will turn it around in their first year under Mike Vrabel. The Giants will learn that the hard way on the road.
Patriots 24, Giants 21 (1-12)
Week 14: Bye
Week 15: vs. Commanders
Slater: The Giants have an especially brutal home schedule in 2025, but they’ll steal this one, thanks to their defense.
Giants 17, Commanders 14 (4-10)
Novozinsky: Washington secured the Week 1 win, but will take a step back after last year’s fairy-tale season. The Giants take advantage of that with a win here.
Giants 21, Commanders 14 (2-12)
Week 16: vs. Vikings
Slater: J.J. McCarthy’s revenge game, after Schoen passed on him in the 2024 draft. While McCarthy is far from a finished product, Justin Jefferson will make mincemeat of the Giants’ secondary.
Vikings 31, Giants 21 (4-11)
Novozinsky: Two-game win streak! This one is revenge for last season’s home opener slaughter — a 28-6 Minnesota win. The Vikings were a good but not great pass blocking team last season. Carter, Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns pounce on that.
Giants 17, Vikings 14 (3-12)
Week 17: at Raiders
Slater: A winnable road game (just like this year’s Chicago trip), as the Raiders are coming off a 4-13 season, though they did upgrade at quarterback with Geno Smith. A close victory for the Giants.
Giants 21, Raiders 20 (5-11)
Novozinsky: Daboll needs to take care of business against the new-look Raiders, led by Pete Carroll and Ashton Jeanty. Are a few late-season wins enough to keep Mara happy?
Giants 21, Raiders 17 (4-12)
Week 18: vs. Cowboys
Slater: Yes, the struggling Deonte Banks is now the Giants’ No. 2 cornerback, not their top guy. But the Cowboys have two legit weapons at wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
Cowboys 38, Giants 20 (5-12)
Novozinsky: The Giants should probably try to lose this game. Learn your lesson from last year’s costly Colts win.
Cowboys 28, Giants 21 (4-13)
FINAL RECORD:
Slater: 5-12
Novozinsky: 4-13
