Justin Fields was drafted 11th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, but his career has not gone exactly how he would have hoped so far.
But he is looking for a new start with the New York Jets.
Quincy Avery is a famous quarterback coach that even has his own Hulu documentary titled "The Quincy Avery Effect". He recently appeared on 11Alive News and talked about the Jets' new man under center.
"I'm so proud of Justin," Avery said. "I think he has a unique opportunity with the New York Jets this year and I think that we are going to see something special. I think that the way that people look at him as a quarterback is going to completely change this year and he's going to be one of the top QBs in the NFL."
The most passing yards Fields has had in a season was just over 2,500 back in 2023, but Avery thinks he is going to take his game to a new level.
Fields started in six games for the Pittsburgh Steelers this past season, and he was solid in the snaps he was given. He led the team to a 4-2 record when he started, and racked up 1,106 yards and 10 total touchdowns.
The Aaron Rodgers experiment did not go like the Jets thought it would, and ended with the team eventually cutting him. The team is hoping that Fields can be the guy under center for them for the future.
