The [Green Bay Packers](https://totalpackers.com) made the move to draft former USC Trojans running back MarShawn Lloyd in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. It was a move that the team felt could give them a dynamic playmaking option behind Josh Jacobs long-term.
Lloyd missed almost all of the 2024 season due to injury. While he has had a disappointing start to his NFL career, there is hope that he can turn things around and get back on track in 2025.
Speaking of last season, Lloyd played in just one game. He recorded six carries for 15 yards and a catch for three yards. In 2025, he’s targeting being the primary backup for Jacobs and handling a big role within the offense.
On Wednesday, the Packers gave a major update regarding Lloyd and his health.
Green Bay Packers Reveal Huge Injury Update MarShawn Lloyd

As shared by [Matt Schneidman of The Athletic](https://x.com/mattschneidman/status/1922720874387407032), running backs coach Ben Sirmans offered a five-word update on Lloyd’s status.
“Everything’s full go for him,” he said.
During his final year in college at USC, Lloyd was a big-time piece of the offense. He racked up 116 carries for 820 yards and nine touchdowns to go along with 13 receptions for 232 yards.
Matt LaFleur would have a lot of fun working with Lloyd in the backfield. He’s more than capable of making plays on the ground or through the air. Lloyd’s presence will also keep Jacobs healthy and fresh for Green Bay.
Only time will tell, but things are looking up for Lloyd right now. Hopefully, he’s able to stay healthy and show off the talent and potential that the Packers saw in him when they made him a third-round selection last year.
