GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Benefits stemming from the NFL Draft continue to trickle through the Green Bay community.
Local artist Zane Statz created a 70-foot-long mural for the event that helped raise nearly $17,000 for local charities.
A special check presentation was presented to them at the location of the mural on Lombardi Avenue.
“With the draft, I wanted to kind of raise the bar and see how much I could maximize that effort, so in total there’s 33 people on the fence and 16,750 dollars total raised split by 3,” said Zane Statz.
The three non-profits benefiting from the money include “Freedom House,” which is a shelter that helps homeless families.
“23’s Cleats 4 Kidz,” which provides new and gently used athletic gear to children in need and “Grit 920,” which is a fitness group that builds adaptive gyms and programs for people of all ability levels.
