Sky Sports News reporter Lyall Thomas writes that Arsenal are keeping tabs on Salford City’s Will Wright after his breakthrough into the first team with the League Two side.

Wright is reportedly one of a number of young players Arsenal’s academy recruitment staff are looking at this summer, with Leicester City and Birmingham City also watching the teenager striker’s situation.

Wright made his senior debut for Salford City against Manchester City in the FA Cup in January, though he only played a few minutes of the 8-0 defeat.

The teenager has since gone on to make his League Two debut, playing a couple of games against Port Vale and Bradford City in February and March. He’s made the Salford squad on seven further occasions on top of those three appearances.

Sky report that Wright has scored more than 40 goals for Salford’s youth team, and he’s considered one of the club’s top prospects.

Arsenal certainly seem to be in the market for a youth striker, with links to Blackburn Rovers’ 16-year-old forward Harvey Higgins also emerging this week.

The club are also looking at youth defenders, monitoring Jaden Dixon of Stoke City. The Gunners made a deadline-day enquiry for Dixon as a possible replacement for Ayden Heaven in January, and they’re considering another move this summer.
