The NFL season is one step closer.
On Wednesday, the league released the full 2025 schedule for all 32 teams, and the Texans are set to appear in four primetime games.
Houston’s 2025 Primetime Schedule:
Week 2: Monday, September 15 vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 6 p.m. CT (ABC)
Week 7: Monday, October 20 at Seattle Seahawks, 9 p.m. CT (ESPN+)
Week 12: Thursday, November 20 vs Buffalo Bills, 7:15 p.m. CT (PRIME)
Week 14: Sunday, December 7 at Kansas City Chiefs, 7:20 p.m. CT (NBC)
While Houston had six standalone games in 2024, this year's primetime total matches the same number they had across four seasons from 2020 to 2023.
The Texans’ first primetime appearance will also serve as their home opener—Monday Night Football at NRG Stadium against Tampa Bay.
Fan reaction to the schedule release and primetime slate was mixed.
One user wrote, “Feel like we should’ve gotten 5 primetime matchups, but I’m happy with our schedule.”
Another said, "Cool. Two Monday night football games."
Another wasn't impressed, commenting, “why are we playing at 9 pm,” referencing the late kickoff for Week 7’s matchup against the Seahawks in Seattle.

The slate of matchups features opponents that went a combined 52-16 last season, including two teams that reached the AFC Championship.
Houston finished 2-4 in primetime games last season, with wins over the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys—two teams that combined for a 12-22 record in 2024.
With expectations to compete against the AFC’s best, the Texans will need to use these nationally televised games to fuel momentum during the season.
