Chelsea are in danger of missing out on a Champions League finish this campaign.
Following the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United last weekend, the Blues are now sitting fifth in the Premier League table but level on points with sixth-placed Aston Villa.
The West Londoners will play Manchester United at home before visiting Nottingham Forest on the final day of the season.
However, regardless of whether the club qualifies for Champions League football or not, Chelsea will reportedly not sack their manager Enzo Maresca.
This decision may not be to the liking of many supporters who find the Italian’s style of football boring and ineffective.
Maresca is a young and ambitious coach who led Leicester City to the Championship title in his first season. But there remains doubts whether he is the right man to take Chelsea to the next level.
The Blues’ team produced brilliant results during the first-half of the campaign, and looked to be in the title race at one point.
However, their levels quickly dropped in the new year, and they have been struggling to put together a consistent run of results.
Missing out on Champions League football would be a big financial blow, but we think the club’s hierarchy have made the decision to stick with Maresca for another season.
Chelsea handed him a five-year contract last summer, which indicates their commitment to a long-term project.
They have been consistently changing managers over the past years and that strategy has not worked for them.
Given the quality of players at his disposal, Maresca should secure a top-five finish this campaign.

But even if they fail to qualify, the Italian’s achievements are enough to keep him in his job for another year.
Chelsea have made it to the final of the UEFA Conference League where they will meet Real Betis, offering the Londoners a chance to win a European trophy.
Their results have not been very convincing in the English top-flight, but they have conceded only 43 league goals so far this season, with only Arsenal and Liverpool conceding less.
They have also been creating plenty of scoring opportunities, though lack of finishing has been an issue.
