Chargers troll Pittsburgh Steelers in viral schedule release video

The Los Angeles Chargers’ social media team is known for its cutting-edge tactics and humor. It turns out they have jokes for the Pittsburgh Steelers, too.

In their 2025 NFL schedule release video, the Chargers used the popular video game ‘Minecraft’ to reveal their entire schedule in order.

When the Steelers came up on Week 10, viewers were ushered into a mine. Two people entered train carts, and at the crossroads of the track, one direction said, ‘contend,’ while the other said, ‘rebuild.’

That is a jab at the Steelers’ half-in, half-out tendencies over the last few years. The Steelers are awkwardly between a win-now mode while trying to rebuild themselves and have an eight-year playoff win drought to show for it.

The most clear example of a jab from the Chargers is a sign in the next frame that says ‘Warning Track Ends In 9′8″', which references the Steelers’ consistent barely over .500 records that end with them being torched in the playoffs.

At the end of the track, the two carts fall off the cliff and into lava, and in the camera shot, there is an Aaron Rodgers easter egg, a metaphor for him keeping the Steelers waiting for a decision.

The Steelers will meet the Chargers in Los Angeles in Week 10 for Sunday Night Football. It is one of four primetime games the Steelers are scheduled to have in the 2025 season.

Pittsburgh defeated the Chargers at home in 2024, winning 20-10 behind a dominant performance from their defense and with Justin Fields playing game manager.
