The Washington Commanders doubled down on their success in 2024, and the front office swung two trades, both to help Jayden Daniels continue his trajectory towards superstardom.
Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil give the Commanders instant upgrades at two positions. Then we have the draft, in which Josh Conerly Jr. was selected in the first round to be Tunsil's backup at left tackle.
Those are just a couple of offensive moves that signal Washington's intentions in 2025: They are here to win it all.
Pro Football Focus has gone through each team and offered its biggest takeaway. When it comes to the Commanders, the front office has done its utmost to surround Daniels with quality. ... something DC fans should be celebrating as the new schedule can be about "opportunities'' more than "challenges.''
"After trading for All-Pro left tackle Laremy Tunsil and dynamic wide receiver Deebo Samuel, the Commanders doubled down in the draft to further reinforce their offense," Pro Football Focus. "First-round pick Josh Conerly Jr. adds another high-upside piece to the offensive line, giving Jayden Daniels the protection he needs to grow into the franchise quarterback role.
"With this influx of talent, the Commanders are building a well-rounded offense and setting Daniels up with the tools to lead a potential championship-caliber team in the near future."

The offense, which was one of the better units in football last season, added an All-Pro receiver, a five-time Pro Bowler, and a first-round left tackle.
That is quite the group to add for a second-year quarterback.
Given Daniels' contract situation, general manager Adam Peters understood the assignment and went out and got veteran players who still have gas in the tank to power the Commanders to what they hope will be a successful season that ends in Super Bowl glory.
Now, we know that success in the NFL isn't linear, but Washington is hoping it is in 2025 with the influx of talent making the NFC East franchise one of the teams capable of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy in February.
