‘Another Injury Prone Player’‘I Rather We Keep Jackson’Fans Issue Verdict As Chelsea Show Interest in Brazilian Ace

Chelsea are one of three clubs “showing interest” in Brighton forward Joao Pedro, according to The Telegraph.

The newspaper claims that the Blues have a longstanding interest in the Brazilian and they are weighing up whether they should make a move for him this summer, along with Arsenal and Liverpool. Fans on X are rather sceptical about signing Pedro, especially because he plays for Brighton:

How much would Pedro cost?

The Telegraph report that Brighton will “demand a fee that far exceeds” the £30m they paid Watford for the striker in 2023.

Some have even suggested that Seagulls owner Tony Bloom values Pedro in excess of £100m, which would be a figure that would surely scare off Enzo Maresca’s side as well as other potential suitors.

Chelsea are considering bids for several different strikers

Pedro is by no means the only forward being targeted ahead of the summer transfer window. Ipswich’s Liam Delap would be a lot cheaper due to the fact that he has a £30m release clause in his contract. However, recent reports suggest that the 22-year-old is leaning towards a move to Manchester United.

RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is another player of interest but his buyout fee is a lot higher at €80m (£67m). Lille’s Jonathan David could also be looked at. The Canadian international will be available on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of next month.
