CONFIRMED: David Raya And Ethan Nwaneri’s New Squad Numbers As Arsenal Release 25/26 Home Kit

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya will take the No.1 shirt at the start of next season.

Following his arrival from Brentford at the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign, the Spanish international took the No.22.

At the time, Aaron Ramsdale was still at the club, and he occupied the No.1 shirt. After his departure to Southampton for £20m last year, though, the number became vacant.

Raya has now taken the decision to change numbers, leaving his No.22 available.

Nwaneri will take Raya’s number

Arsenal have confirmed that following Raya’s decision, Ethan Nwaneri has opted to switch from the No.53 to his teammate’s old number.

The teenager will continue to wear 53 for the rest of the 2024/25 campaign but fans have been forewarned that if they want Nwaneri on the back of next season’s kit, he will be taking ownership of a different number.

There are no other squad number changes, with Myles Lewis-Skelly having decided that he will keep his current No.49, rather than choosing another one.

Arsenal’s new home kit

On Thursday morning, the club released official images of the team wearing their 2025/26 home shirt. It looks exactly the same as the images that were leaked online at the start of last month.

It has a white round collar with the Adidas stripes having been changed from blue to red. There is also a gothic ‘A’ motif in the red background, which wasn’t present on the 2024/25 version of the kit. The club say this was inspired by the “classic 1990/91 league-winning home shirt”.

The jersey is available to buy right now from Arsenal’s shop and it will be worn for the first time when the Gunners take to the field for their final home game of the season against Newcastle this weekend.
