Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has sent a message to his team-mates from his hospital bed after undergoing surgery on Wednesday.
The Spain star has been ruled out for what is left of the 2024-25 season after undergoing emergency surgery for appendicitis.
Ferran will therefore miss the Catalan derby against Espanyol later on today in La Liga but made it clear he will be cheering his team on from afar as they go for the title.
Here's what he has to say:
"Appendicitis survived!!" He wrote on Instagram. “Time to support the team from here tonight to be league champions!"
Barcelona head into the match knowing that victory will secure the league title after rivals Real Madrid secured a last-gasp win over Real Mallorca on Wednesday.
Top scorer Robert Lewandowski looks set to replace Ferran in the starting XI and will hope to fire his team to victory and seal top spot.
