Barcelona star sends message to teammates from hospital bed

Barcelona star Ferran Torres has taken to social media, to unveil a message of support and encouragement for his teammates.

This comes, for those who may have missed it, after the attacker was forced under the knife late on Wednesday.

Owing to a bout of appendicitis, Ferran underwent emergency surgery, ruled out for the remainder of Barcelona’s campaign as a result.

His absence will begin on Thursday evening, when Hansi Flick’s squad make the short trip across Catalunya, for a derby meeting with neighbours Espanyol.

Barca head into the fixture in the knowledge that an eventual victory would see them officially crowned La Liga champions for 2024/25.

And watching on from afar will be Ferran himself.

Taking to his official Instagram account on Thursday, the former Manchester City man unveiled a photo of his current setup in hospital, accompanied by the caption:

“Appendicitis overcome! Now it’s time to support the team form here tonight to become La Liga champions!”
