Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs will be entering his fourth season with the club. Doubs was suspended for one game during the 2024 NFL season.

He has not emerged as the club’s number one wide receiver. This is one of the reasons why Green Bay decided to draft wide receiver Matthew Golden from the Texas Longhorns in the first-round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Doubs for now is on the first team depth chart at wide receiver for the Packers. Is he actually one of the most underrated players on Green Bay’s roster?

Jonathon Macri of pro football focus listed one player from each NFL team who is the most underrated player on the roster entering the 2025 NFL season. For the Packers, he surprisingly listed Doubs as the Packers most underrated player on the roster. Macri said,
“Doubs has quietly put up more than 1,500 receiving yards over the past two seasons — the second most among all Packers players, behind only Jayden Reed. He has also delivered a 75.0 PFF receiving grade, also ranking second on the team, behind only Reed, since 2023.
Doubs’ ability to step up deep downfield and come down with contested catches has been crucial for Green Bay, as he not only leads the team in contested-catch rate over the past two seasons (58.7%) but also ranks 11th among 104 qualifying wide receivers over that span.”
Doubs during the 2024 NFL season with Green Bay caught 46 passes for 601 yards receiving and four touchdowns, along with averaging 13.1 yards per reception. He also was targeted 72 times. It is going to be interesting to see what role Doubs will play in for the 2025 NFL season.
For now, him, Golden, and Jayden Reed are the top three wide receivers on the roster. Rookie Savion Williams and Dontayvion Wicks are on the second team at the wide receiver position. Christian Watson will most likely start the 2025 season on injured reserve. Bo Melton, Mecole Hardman Jr., or Malik Heath will get the final roster spot at the wide receiver position for the Packers.
This is a deep group, but Golden was drafted to be Green Bay’s number one wide receiver for quarterback Jordan Love. Reed will most likely be the number two and Doubs will most likely be the number three. How will the former Nevada Wolfpack wide receiver perform in 2025? His numbers may stay the same, but Doubs will be a threat in the red zone once again.
