Colts Face Backlash After Posting, Then Deleting, Controversial Tyreek Hill Video

The Indianapolis Colts posted, and subsequently deleted, a video depicting Miami Dolphins' wide receiver Tyreek Hill's arrest as part of their 2025 schedule release on Thursday morning.

The video utilized Minecraft-style animation, featuring a short clip for each of the Colts' 2025 regular season matchups, and in Week 1, Indianapolis takes on Hill's Dolphins. In the video, a dolphin labeled "Hill" wearing a No. 10 Miami jersey (Hill's number) is shown swimming as a Coast Guard ship sails next to him with a Coast Guard officer peering over the side with crossed arms.

Hill has had a heavy share of legal trouble in his nine-year NFL career. Most recently, Hill was detained outside of Miami's Hard Rock stadium and cited with two traffic violations before a 2024 Dolphins' home game, according to The Athletic.

In 2015, Hill pleaded guilty to the domestic assault and battery by strangulation of his then-girlfriend, who was pregnant. More information about Hill's extensive legal past is available from The Athletic and Sporting News.

The production of a creative video revealing each team's schedule has become common practice among NFL franchises during schedule release week every year, but in the past, teams have steered clear of controversy. Already, the Colts have received backlash online for their depiction of Hill.

The Colts deleted the video within an hour of posting it. The club released this statement from the franchise:

"We removed our schedule release video because it exceeded our rights with Microsoft and included an insensitive clip involving Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. We sincerely apologize to Microsoft and Tyreek."
